CONSULAR SERVICES

  1. ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS:
  • Attested Certificates/Documents issued by Government of Sri Lanka (Eg. Birth, Death, Marriage certificates, Educational certificates) can be attested by AHCI, Kandy. Relevant certificates should be attested by Ministry of External Affairs, Colombo whereas Documents issued by Government of India should be attested by Local branch secretariat of MEA in India.

  3. Original and copy of the document which is submitted for attestation (If the Original document is in any other language, it has to be translated in to English)

    Fee for attestation SLRs 1,660/-
  1. AFFIDAVIT:
  • Affidavits made by Indian nationals who are residing under the jurisdiction of AHCI, Kandy are attested based on their Indian passports.

  3. Original and copies of the affidavit

    Fee for affidavit SLRs 1,660/-
  1. ATTESTATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY:
  • Power of Attorney prepared by Attorney At law in Sri Lanka can be attested by AHCI, Kandy after attestation by the Deputy Registrar, Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and MEA, Colombo.  Indian nationals, who are executants of Power Of Attorney prepared in India as per rules and regulations in India, can sign the POA in front of the consular officer at AHCI, Kandy. His/her signature will be attested by the consular officer of AHCI, Kandy.

  3. Original and copies of the affidavit

    Fee for attestation of POA SLRs 3,450/-
  1. POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE:
  • Sri Lankan nationals who have stayed in India for more than 6 months time can apply for Police Clearance certificate, from the consular section of AHCI, Kandy.
  1. Documents required:
  1. Prescribed application form (Click here)
  2. Requirements from 2 to 5 mentioned under general requirements
  3. Copies of passport (all the pages containing Indian visa with immigration stamps)
  4. Residential proof in India
  5. College certificates, marks sheets, visa permit etc if stayed for academic purpose

    Fee for PCC SLRs 4,000/-
  1. BIRTH REGISTRATION FOR NEW BORN CHILD
  • Birth of a child who is born to an Indian parent under the jurisdiction of AHCI, Kandy can be registered at the Post within one year’s period from date of birth. Applications for fresh Indian passport to a new born child will be accepted only after completion of birth registration.
  1. Documents required

  2. Requirements 3 & 5 mentioned under general requirements
  3. Child’s Birth certificate should be translated into English (if the original document is other language) and attested by Ministry of External Affairs Sri Lanka.
  4. Marriage certificate of Parents should be translated into English (if the original document is other language) and attested by Ministry of External Affairs of issuing authorities.
  5. Copies of parents’ passports / N.I.C.
  6. Two colour photographs with white background (3.5 into 3.5 cm)
  7. Request letter signed by both parents for Birth Registration

    Fee for Birth Registration SLRs 3,450/-
  1. DEATH REGISTRATION
  • Death of Indian national needs to be registered at AHCI, Kandy. Based on the local Death certificate issued by the competent Medical Officer or District Registrar/Addl. Registrar of Deaths, a separate death certificate will be issued by the Office after cancellation of the Indian passport.
  1. Documents required
  1. Prescribed application form (Click here)
  2. Original and copies of the Indian passport of deceased person
  3. Letter and Identification documents of informant
  4. Original and copies of Death certificate or certificate issued by competent Medical Officer

    Fee for Death Registration SLRs 0/-  (Gratis)
  1. GENERAL CERTIFICATE
  • Letters are being issued for Indian nationals for various purpose based on their Indian passports.

    Fee for General Certificate  -  SLRs 3,320/-
